Roger Chouler is an experienced portrait artist and graphic designer. London born, but raised in a family of six and educated in the Johannesburg northern suburbs of South Africa. Roger is an identical twin to Charles, who pursued a career in medicine.
By the age of 12, It became apparent that Roger had an eye for art, and after qualifying as a professional graphic designer with a year at Thomson under his belt, he returned to England in 1976 to travel around Europe, and pursue a career in international publishing. Through many changes in technology, his leaning has always been to draw by hand, paint and create on anything – putting down pencil on rock, card, paper, etch into metal or brush on canvas, and when possible coach others.
Over a span of 40 years, Roger has designed countless graphics which have been printed and published internationally.
www.rochartportraits.com was launched in 2015 to make his portraiture more widely available to the public. The site is regularly updated and prices kept affordable.
Roger works with each client and specialises in adapting photos provided and creating a unique finished work of art. He offers you a variety of techniques and artistic styles to imitate both contemporary and classical genres.
Using pencil, watercolour or pen and ink, sometimes oil and pastel, he endeavours to bring flair and originality, while at the same time maintaining a faithful resemblance to the subject.
